Modern cosmetic treatments provided by a facial aesthetics clinic are surprisingly easy to fit into a busy lifestyle.

After all, Botox, injectable cosmetic treatments and dermal fillers are injectable, take less than an hour on average to apply and people can often go home or even back to work once they are done, with a treatment that will last several months.

However, to ensure your treatment beds in properly and lasts as long as it can, here are some top tips for what to do after a treatment.

Embrace The No Filter Life

Specifically, whilst it can be tempting to immediately reach for the concealer once you have your round of injections due to the range of noticeable marks where the needle was applied, try to avoid putting on any makeup immediately after the surgery.

The reason for this is a matter of health; makeup can sometimes have bacteria in it, especially if it is an older kit, and rubbing it directly on what are open wounds can inadvertently cause infection.

Stay Upright

For the first few hours at least, it is best to try to avoid lying down or doing any activity where your head is pointed sideways or downward, such as massages and some forms of yoga practice. This will ensure your treatment will bed in and will improve healing time.

As well as this, try to avoid massages for the first two weeks if you have had fillers, as the cushion ring your head rests on can cause pressure that increases the healing time. Facial massages, jade rollers and gua sha can cause even bigger problems.

Ease Up On Your Exercise Regime

Wait at least 12 hours before doing any strenuous cardio exercise as the blood rushing can lead to a range of side effects from bruising to Botox working in the wrong places.

If you refuse to miss a fitness class, try to time it before your appointment.
